Sacramento County is home to the California State Capitol and to Modern Waste Solutions, which has operated from its Sacramento facility since 1999. The county's economy pairs a large public-sector workforce with healthcare and technology employers built around UC Davis Health and Sutter Health, Intel's Folsom campus, and the insurance and finance back offices in Rancho Cordova. Every load we collect in the county is processed a short drive from where it was picked up.
Each has its own page:
- Sacramento: state and local agencies, school districts, and downtown law, finance and medical offices.
- Folsom and Rancho Cordova: data center decommissioning and back-office campuses.
- Arden-Arcade and Carmichael: medical and dental offices with patient-record drives.
- Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks and Orangevale: retail corridors, village shops and small offices.
- Elk Grove: school sites and big-box retailers.
- Antelope: small businesses in north county's newer subdivisions.
- Galt: family farms and downtown businesses at the southern county line.
Businesses, agencies and schools can include desktops, laptops, servers and networking gear, monitors and TVs, copiers and printers, phone systems, UPS units, audio and video equipment, battery-embedded devices, all battery chemistries and hard drives. The services we run most here are electronic waste recycling, secure data destruction, on-site hard drive shredding, ITAD and battery recycling.
Six steps, for a state agency or a single shop: containers, training, a pickup by our own crew, tracking under a ticket number, reuse-first processing at our facility, and certificates and reports. Everything runs under our ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications, with the chain-of-custody documentation that government and healthcare compliance teams ask for.
We don't pick up from homes or offer residential service. Household electronics go to Secure Recycle, our sister company for consumers, which operates from our address at 3921 Pell Circle, Sacramento, so most Sacramento County residents have a short drive. Please don't put old TVs, computers or batteries in the trash: California treats discarded electronics and batteries as universal waste.
Can a business drop off instead of booking a pickup?
Yes. Businesses can bring equipment to the facility during drop-off hours. Book a pickup when you need drives logged at your site or have more than a vehicle can carry.
Do agencies get serial-level records?
When it's included in the scope. Serial-level reporting depends on an agreed inventory process at pickup, and at the top destruction tier the certificate lists each drive by serial number.
Request a quote with your equipment type and volume, and we'll schedule a pickup that fits your Sacramento County location.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
