Airports are a mix of operators and tenants. The airport authority runs terminals, parking and airfield systems. Airlines keep station offices and gate equipment. Concessions, rental car companies, fixed-base operators and cargo tenants each run their own electronics. We work with any of them on the equipment they own. Camera systems keep weeks or months of recorded footage, and kiosks, gate computers and point-of-sale terminals store passenger and card data. We identify those devices at scoping, then wipe or shred the storage and list the serial numbers on a certificate of destruction. Rental car GPS units and fleet tablets can hold trip histories and paired phone contacts, so they go through the same step.
Equipment usually comes out in phases during terminal upgrades, so we plan pickups around your construction schedule, badge and escort rules, and loading dock windows. Each load is tracked to our Sacramento facility and processed under our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems, and you receive a certificate of recycling. A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.

Yes. Airports control who enters secured areas, when vehicles can reach a dock, and whether crews need escorts. Give us those requirements when the job is scoped and we plan the crew, vehicles and schedule around them. Terminal upgrades usually retire equipment in phases, so pickups can follow the construction sequence. Confirm any requirement specific to secured areas before the pickup date.
Each tenant owns its equipment and stays responsible for how it is disposed of, so airlines, concessions, rental car companies and fixed-base operators can each arrange their own recycling with us. An airport authority can also coordinate one program that tenants join, which keeps pickups and paperwork consistent across the terminal. Either way, each load is documented with a certificate of recycling.
Airport camera systems store footage on video recorders, network storage and servers, often for weeks or months at a time. Before recycling, we identify each recorder and storage device, then wipe the drives to NIST 800-88 or shred them. The certificate of destruction lists every serial number, so your security and records staff can show the footage no longer exists on retired equipment.
