ISO 9001 Certification

ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for quality management systems. It sets requirements for an organization that needs to show it can consistently deliver services that meet customer requirements and the laws that apply to them, and that keeps improving how it works. The requirements are generic, so they apply to any type or size of organization. What the standard does is make an organization define its processes, follow them, check the results and correct what goes wrong.

For a recycling and data destruction company, "quality" means that what you released is what we received, that it went through the process you agreed to, and that the paperwork proves it. Our six-step process is built on that:

• Equipment and training: Containers, labels and instructions are specified up front, so material arrives sorted the way it will be processed.
• Pickup and intake: Every load gets a ticket number in our secure database. It is weighed or counted and logged under that ticket before it is triaged.
• Tracking: Depending on the scope, records are kept at load level (material type, weight, dates), asset level (type, make, model, serial number) or drive level (drive serial, method applied, result). See Tracking.
• Processing: Data-bearing devices are separated first, then items with reuse potential, then everything else by material.
• Reports: Certificates and closeout reports are matched to the ticket, so you can check them line by line against your release list. See Reports.

When a count or serial number doesn't match, the discrepancy is raised against the pickup ticket and resolved before the project closes. ISO 9001 audits check that this kind of correction actually happens.

Procurement and audit teams can ask us for a copy of the current certificate and for a sample closeout report that shows the fields you need. If your organization requires asset-level or drive-level records, say so before collection so the inventory is taken at pickup.
