Electronics we recycle

We can process nearly all business electronics. If you're unsure about an item, add it to your request and we'll confirm how it will be handled.

  • Desktops, laptops and servers
  • Monitors, keyboards and peripherals
  • Networking gear and phone systems
  • Printers, copiers, scanners and projectors
  • Security cameras, DVRs and sensors
  • Motors, controllers and test equipment
  • Medical and lab electronics
  • Radios, stereo gear and small devices

Batteries in the mix? Keep them apart and list them in your request. They go through our battery recycling stream, separate from general electronics.

  1. Tell us what's going

List the equipment, a rough count or pallet estimate, and the address. Point out anything that stores data so we can plan how it's handled.

  2. We pick it up ourselves

Our trucks and crew collect on a recurring route or an on-call visit. Businesses can also drop off at our Sacramento facility.

  3. Get a record for each load

Every load gets a ticket number in our database. You receive a certificate of recycling, plus erasure or destruction records for data-bearing devices.

Office refresh or cleanout coming up?

Tell us what's leaving and where it is, or call to set up a pickup.

  • Serial-level tracking

Devices can be tagged and reported by type, make, model and serial number, which helps when IT or finance has to close out an asset list.

  • Value recovered where possible

Working equipment is tested for resale or redeployment before recycling. What can't be reused is broken down so its steel, copper and precious metals are recovered.

  • One vendor for mixed loads

Electronics, batteries and data-bearing media often leave in the same cleanout. We take all three and keep each in its own documented stream.

A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.

Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.

We can process nearly all business electronics. Typical loads include desktops, laptops, servers, monitors, networking gear, phones, printers, copiers, security cameras and DVRs. We also take industrial controllers, test equipment, and medical and lab electronics.

List batteries, CRT monitors and anything unusual in your request so the right handling is planned before pickup.

Minimums vary with your route and the material. If your address is on one of our scheduled routes, a smaller load usually works, while a special trip may need more volume. Send your equipment types and a rough count and we'll tell you what applies.

For small loads, dropping off at our Sacramento facility is another option. Ask about it when you request a quote.

Chevron down

There is no single price, because a job can combine pickup, labor, data destruction, processing and reporting. Your quote is based on the volume and device types, access at the pickup site (stairs, docks, elevators), how often you need service, and the records you require.

Working equipment may offset part of the cost once it has been tested and evaluated for resale. That value can't be promised before the equipment is reviewed.

Hard drives and other data-bearing devices are wiped with verification or shredded, whichever you approve. Devices can be tracked by make, model and serial number, and their erasure reports or Certificates of Destruction are issued separately from the certificate of recycling for the rest of the load.

We collect from businesses, schools and public agencies throughout nearly all of California, and in Reno, Sparks and surrounding Nevada counties. Service runs on recurring routes or as on-call pickups, always with our own drivers and trucks.

We don't provide residential services, so residents can't book a pickup. Households can recycle electronics through our sister company, Secure Recycle, at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento.
