Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!

We have answers.
We accept lithium-ion and lithium primary, lead-acid (including sealed VRLA), nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal hydride, alkaline, EV packs and mixed loads. That covers the UPS, telecom, alarm and forklift batteries most facilities accumulate.
Flag damaged or swollen lithium batteries when you request a quote so we can plan the right containers and handling. Damaged EV packs can be torn down on site before transport.
It depends on your location and the chemistries involved. A stop on one of our scheduled routes can usually take a smaller load than a special trip. Customers send us anything from a single pallet to a full truckload.
Include a rough weight or pallet count in your request and we'll confirm what applies to your site.
Each job is quoted from its details, so there is no published rate. The main factors are the chemistry mix, total weight or pallet count, whether the batteries are already packed and labeled, the condition of any lithium packs, the pickup location, and whether you need one pickup or a recurring schedule.
Photos of the staging area and a list of battery types help us quote accurately.
We log what we receive from you in our database and process it by chemistry. You receive a certificate of recycling and a chain-of-custody record that follows the load from your dock to our Sacramento facility. If your auditors need particular fields, such as weights or container counts, tell us before the first pickup.
Across nearly all of California, plus Reno, Sparks and nearby Nevada counties. Our own drivers run every pickup from our facility at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento, and we never hand a pickup to a subcontractor or parcel carrier.
Pickups are for businesses and public agencies, and we don't provide residential services. Households can use our sister company, Secure Recycle, at the same Sacramento address.
We quote one-time cleanouts and recurring routes. Tell us what you have and where it is.
