Elk Grove has spent years as one of the largest and fastest-growing suburbs in California, and that growth shows up for us in a school district that's constantly cycling through classroom computers and cafeteria equipment. Add in the big-box retail corridor along Elk Grove Boulevard and Laguna, and you get a city with genuinely varied recycling needs.
- Elk Grove Unified school sites: classroom computers, projectors, and networking gear retired between school years.
- Retail and big-box businesses: point-of-sale hardware, security equipment, and office electronics turnover.
TVs, desktops, laptops, tablets, routers and networking gear, printers, all battery chemistries, and hard drives with certified destruction. Schools and retailers get scheduled bulk pickups. We don't provide residential services; Elk Grove households can recycle electronics through our sister company, Secure Recycle, at the same Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle.
Copiers, phone systems, monitors, audio and video equipment, UPS backups and battery-embedded devices qualify as well. From schools we often see projectors and classroom carts, and from retailers point-of-sale terminals and security cameras.
No. TVs, computers, game consoles and batteries are universal waste under California rules, and they can't go in your garbage cart or a store's dumpster. For school sites and retailers, the legal route is a scheduled pickup. Elk Grove households can use Secure Recycle.
Residents can recycle them through Secure Recycle, our sister company for consumers, at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento. Modern Waste Solutions handles TVs and computers from schools and businesses, which book a pickup so each drive is logged and documented.
Our six-step program covers containers for classrooms or stockrooms, training for site staff, pickup by our own crew between school years or store resets, tracking under a ticket number, reuse-first processing, and certificates and reports.
All material is processed under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, so school districts and retail compliance teams alike get a documented certificate of recycling for every load.
Request a quote for a one-time business pickup or a recurring school-site contract. Households can use Secure Recycle at the same Sacramento address. We also serve nearby Rancho Cordova, Galt, and Sacramento.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
