Fair Oaks has held onto a small-town village feel that's rare this close to Sacramento — a historic village center with artisan shops and independent businesses, surrounded by residential streets near the American River. The businesses here are small by design, but they still generate the same kind of office electronics, point-of-sale systems, and old hard drives as anywhere else, just in smaller batches.
- Artisan and specialty shops: old registers, office computers, and small-batch electronics turnover.
- Small businesses and offices: routine equipment retirement without a dedicated IT team.
Households near the village and the river corridor aren't part of our service, since we work with businesses and institutions. Our sister company, Secure Recycle, handles consumer electronics at the same Sacramento location, 3921 Pell Circle.
Desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, small point-of-sale systems, all battery types, and hard drives with certified destruction. Copiers, phone systems, TVs, routers, UPS backups and battery-embedded devices qualify too. We pick up from storefronts and offices, not residences, so a small business run from home should use Secure Recycle as well.
No. California treats discarded electronics and batteries as universal waste, and they aren't allowed in household trash carts or a shop's dumpster. For a village shop, an old register or back-office PC goes on a pickup; for a household near the river, the old TV goes to Secure Recycle.
Small pickups go through the same six steps as large ones. We provide containers and show you how to separate batteries from electronics, and our own crew makes the pickup. Then the load is tracked under a ticket number, processed at our Sacramento facility with drives wiped or destroyed before any reuse, and closed with a certificate and report.
Every business pickup, no matter how small, is processed under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, with a certificate of recycling issued for your records.
Through Secure Recycle, our sister company for households, at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento. We don't provide residential services ourselves. A Fair Oaks business retiring computers or laptops can book a pickup, or deliver a load to our facility through business drop-off.
Request a quote and we'll schedule your pickup around your shop's hours. We also serve nearby Orangevale, Carmichael, and Citrus Heights.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
