Citrus Heights built its identity around a dense strip of independent retail and service businesses along Greenback Lane and Sunrise Boulevard, tucked between some of the older residential neighborhoods in the greater Sacramento area. Our work here is pickups for businesses like a print shop retiring a fleet of copiers. The households in those neighborhoods are served by our sister company, Secure Recycle, at the same Sacramento address.
- Independent retail and service businesses: point-of-sale systems, printers and copiers, and office computers along the Greenback and Sunrise corridors.
- Small professional offices: routine hard drive destruction for retiring workstations.
Desktops, laptops, monitors, printers and copiers, TVs, routers and networking gear, all battery types, and hard drives with certified on-site shredding available. Phone systems, UPS backups, audio and video equipment and battery-embedded devices are accepted too. If it's electronic and done working, businesses can schedule a pickup. For computer recycling, Citrus Heights offices book a pickup so each drive is logged. We don't provide residential services, so residents with old computers can use Secure Recycle instead.
For a business, at our Sacramento facility through a scheduled pickup. We take heavy CRT sets that have sat in a storeroom for years as well as flat screens that stopped working. Both go to our TV and monitor recycling stream, where the leaded glass in tube sets and the backlight lamps in older flat panels are handled separately. Households with an old TV can take it to Secure Recycle, our sister company at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento. We don't pick up from homes.
No. TVs, computers and batteries are universal waste in California and aren't allowed in household trash or bulky-item piles headed for landfill. For a business, the same rule applies to the dumpster behind the store.
For retailers and offices, a pickup follows six steps: we supply containers, train your staff, send our own crew for the pickup, track the load under a ticket number, process it at our facility with reuse first, and close it with reports and certificates. Every item processed through Citrus Heights routes falls under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, giving small business owners the same documented compliance larger clients get.
Businesses can request a quote for pickup. Households can use Secure Recycle at the same Sacramento address. We're also nearby for Antelope, Orangevale, and Carmichael.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
