Arden-Arcade packs an unusual mix into a small unincorporated footprint — medical and dental offices along Fair Oaks Boulevard and Watt Avenue, retail centers, and some of the older apartment stock in Sacramento County. That density puts medical equipment retirements and retail electronics within the same few square miles, surrounded by apartment residents who need somewhere to take old batteries.
- Medical and dental offices: workstation retirement with documented destruction of drives that hold patient records.
- Retail centers and shopping plazas: point-of-sale systems, security electronics, and office equipment.
- Apartment communities: pickup for property management companies clearing common areas and vacated units.
Desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, all battery chemistries, and hard drives with documented destruction. We also take copiers, phone systems, TVs, routers and modems, UPS backup units, audio and video equipment, and devices with built-in batteries. Retail centers often add security cameras and DVRs, which qualify as well.
For a property management company, pickup covers what's left in common areas and vacated units. Residents' own electronics go to Secure Recycle, our sister company for consumers, which operates from our Sacramento address at 3921 Pell Circle, a short drive north. We don't offer residential service ourselves.
No. The Department of Toxic Substances Control treats discarded electronics and batteries as universal waste, which keeps them out of apartment dumpsters and household trash carts. For a medical office there is a second problem: a workstation thrown out with its drive intact is a patient-privacy risk as well as an environmental one.
Medical and dental offices here usually care most about steps four through six. Our program starts with containers and staff training, then a pickup by our own crew. After that, every load is tracked under a ticket number, drives are pulled for wiping or destruction during processing, and you get reports and certificates. At the top data-destruction tier, the certificate of destruction lists each drive by serial number.
Arden-Arcade pickups run under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, meeting the documentation medical offices and retail compliance teams both require.
Through Secure Recycle, our sister company at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento, a short drive north of Arden-Arcade. Modern Waste Solutions works with businesses, so a medical office or apartment manager with several computers or TVs should book a pickup with us and get the drives logged and documented.
Request a quote and note if you have medical or imaging equipment so we can plan the right crew. We also serve nearby Sacramento, Carmichael, and Citrus Heights.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
