Oildale doesn't have its own city government — it's an unincorporated community — but it has a distinct industrial identity all the same, built directly on top of the Kern River oil field, one of the oldest continuously producing fields in the state. Field offices and pump-station monitoring points here rely on SCADA terminals, remote telemetry equipment, and battery-backed power systems that keep running when a wellhead is miles from the nearest grid connection, and all of it eventually needs certified retirement. That reliance on off-grid, battery-backed equipment sets Oildale apart from every other stop on our route — the volume of retired batteries alone can rival what a much larger office park generates.
- Oilfield operations and field offices — SCADA monitoring terminals, remote telemetry equipment, and dispatch computers retired during upgrades to field infrastructure.
- Remote and backup-power installations — UPS units and battery banks that keep wellhead monitoring running off-grid, often replaced on a maintenance rotation.
- Local small businesses — everyday office electronics and battery recycling for unincorporated Kern County businesses along North Chester Avenue.
Desktops, laptops, SCADA and telemetry terminals, monitors, printers, phones, all battery chemistries including backup-power battery banks, and hard drives with certified destruction. We're equipped to handle the larger lead-acid and lithium battery banks used in remote monitoring stations, not just the small office batteries most recyclers expect. Field-office computer recycling, from dispatch PCs to printers, goes on the same pickup.
Batteries shape most of the six steps here. The equipment we place at a field office keeps each chemistry in its own labeled container, and our Field Service Managers train crews to read chemistry codes and pull swollen or damaged cells out of routine collection. Our own trucks do the pickup. In Sacramento every load is logged by weight and ticket number, processed with drives handled first, and closed out with a certificate and report for your maintenance files.
No. Lead-acid and lithium batteries, circuit boards and monitors are regulated in California, and most of them fall under the DTSC universal waste rules, so they can't be thrown out with the yard's regular trash. The operator stays responsible for them until they reach an authorized recycler. Our article on lead-acid and UPS battery recycling covers storage and labeling in more detail.
Businesses can add computers and TVs to a scheduled pickup. We don't provide residential services; Oildale households can recycle electronics through our sister company, Secure Recycle, at our Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle. If you won't be in Sacramento, CalRecycle lists collection sites in Kern County that are much closer.
Oildale pickups follow our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001-certified process, with full chain-of-custody tracking and a certificate of recycling or destruction issued for every load, including backup-power batteries and SCADA equipment pulled from remote field sites.
Request a quote and tell us if your pickup involves remote field equipment or backup-power battery banks — we'll schedule accordingly and bring the right vehicle for the load, including one equipped to handle heavier battery pallets safely. We also serve nearby Bakersfield, Delano, and Pleasant Valley.
No obligation. We respond same business day.

A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
