Rocklin has grown from a quiet Placer County town into one of the region's busiest business park and tech-employer corridors, anchored in part by Sierra College and a steady influx of mid-size companies relocating from the Bay Area. That growth means a steady cycle of office refreshes, server upgrades, and full-site IT decommissions — work that needs more than a drop-off bin.
- Business park tenants — companies doing periodic hardware refreshes across office suites who need documented asset disposition, not just disposal.
- IT departments — server, switch, and UPS decommissioning when a data closet or small server room is retired or relocated.
- Growing offices — new-to-the-area companies setting up recycling programs for the first time and wanting a compliant baseline.
Desktops, laptops, servers, switches and networking equipment, UPS units, monitors, printers, phones, all battery chemistries, and hard drives with certified destruction. For full-rack or data-closet decommissions, our team can scope the job on-site before pickup.
A company setting up its first recycling program here gets our full six steps from day one:
- Equipment: bins, carts and battery buckets, labeled the way California's universal waste rules require.
- Training: a Field Service Manager walks your team through sorting.
- Pick-up: our own crew, on the same Placer County route that serves Roseville and Lincoln.
- Tracking: load records, or asset-level records for an ITAD project.
- Process: data-bearing devices first, then reuse, then recycling.
- Reports: certificates and a report for your compliance file.
Every asset we collect is processed under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certified management systems, with tracked chain-of-custody and a certificate of recycling or destruction for your compliance records.
Businesses book a pickup. Households go to Secure Recycle, our sister company for consumers, at our Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle, since we don't provide residential services. Please don't put electronics in the trash. California's universal waste rules keep most electronics and batteries out of household garbage, and Placer County residents can find other drop-off sites through CalRecycle.
Request a quote and describe your equipment — for larger server or data-closet jobs, we'll often do a quick on-site assessment first. We also serve Sacramento, Carmichael, and Placerville on the same regional route.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
