Cameron Park doesn't have its own city hall — it's an unincorporated community, which means residents and businesses here have historically had fewer local options for responsible e-waste disposal than incorporated neighbors with their own municipal programs. Its semi-rural mix of commuter households and small businesses is spread across acreage lots rather than dense subdivisions. For the offices and shops along Cameron Park Drive, that means a recycler has to make the trip up the hill on a route, and ours does.
- Small local businesses and offices: retail and service shops along Cameron Park Drive and professional offices retiring point-of-sale and office equipment as leases and hardware age out.
Commuter households aren't part of our service, and neither are home-based businesses, since we don't pick up from residences. Our sister company, Secure Recycle, handles consumer electronics at the same Sacramento location, 3921 Pell Circle.
Desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, phones, all battery chemistries, networking cable and equipment, and hard drives. Copiers, TVs, phone systems, UPS battery backups and audio and video gear qualify as well. Any business that needs to witness destruction instead of shipping drives offsite can book on-site hard drive shredding at its business location, which accountants, insurance agents and other offices holding client data often ask for. Computer recycling for Cameron Park offices always starts with the drive: each one is wiped or destroyed before a machine is reused or recycled.
No. Electronic devices and batteries are universal waste under California rules and can't go in the trash, whether that's a curbside cart or a dumpster behind a shop. Cameron Park businesses can book a pickup. Households can use Secure Recycle in Sacramento or check CalRecycle's list for a collection site closer to the foothills.
Our six-step program starts with containers and training, continues with a pickup by our own crew, and finishes at our facility with tracking, reuse-first processing, and certificates and reports. Cameron Park pickups follow our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001-certified process, with full chain-of-custody tracking and a certificate of recycling or destruction for every job.
Request a quote for your business location and let us know if you need on-site shredding. We'll schedule it alongside our regular El Dorado County stops. We also serve Placerville, South Lake Tahoe, and Auburn.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
