It's a common mix-up. Nevada County is a Gold Country and Sierra foothill county in California, not part of the state of Nevada. Grass Valley and Nevada City have the same small-business, tourism and historic-downtown character as our other foothill service areas, and Truckee, up on I-80, runs on a mountain tourism economy with seasonal equipment turnover.

Pickups are for business and public locations, and we don't collect from residences. Anyone running a business from home can use our sister company, Secure Recycle, at our Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle.
Desktops, laptops, servers, monitors and TVs, copiers and printers, phone systems, point-of-sale and networking equipment, UPS backups, battery-embedded devices, all battery chemistries and hard drives. The services involved are electronic waste recycling, battery recycling and secure data destruction, with a certificate of destruction for drives.
Nevada County pickups follow the same ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified process we run throughout the foothills. That's six steps: containers, training, a pickup by our own crew (never a parcel carrier, however far up the hill you are), tracking under a ticket number, processing at our Sacramento facility, and certificates and reports.
Households can recycle electronics through Secure Recycle in Sacramento. Residents who'd rather not make the drive can check CalRecycle's list of collection sites. Either way, don't put them in the trash: discarded electronics and batteries are universal waste under California rules.
Is there a minimum pickup size?
Minimums depend on the route and the material. A stop on a scheduled foothill run can usually take a smaller load than a special trip.
Can drives be destroyed at our office?
Yes, at a business location. On-site hard drive shredding lets you watch the destruction before anything leaves the building.

A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
