Lyon County doesn't have the concentration of large employers found in Reno or Sparks, but its businesses and public offices still retire computers, printers, servers and batteries that need certified handling. We serve Lyon County as an extension of our established Reno-Sparks route, so a pickup here uses the same crews and the same process as one in Sparks.

Desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, monitors and TVs, copiers and printers, phone systems, UPS backups, battery-embedded devices, all battery chemistries and hard drives. Warehouse operations can add handheld scanners and their chargers. The services behind a pickup include electronic waste recycling, battery recycling and secure data destruction, with a certificate of destruction for drives.
Every account follows our six steps: containers and labels for each material, training for your staff, a pickup by our own crew, tracking under a ticket number, processing at our Sacramento facility with drives handled first, and certificates and reports. Lyon County pickups follow the same ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified process we run across California and Northern Nevada.
For a first-time program, the first two steps matter most. Our Field Service Managers set up storage that separates batteries and data-bearing devices from general electronics, so what reaches the truck is already sorted.
We pick up from businesses and agencies and don't provide residential services. Our sister company, Secure Recycle, takes household electronics at our Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle, which is a long way from Lyon County. Residents should check with their county or local waste provider about options closer to home.
Is there a minimum pickup size?
It depends on the route and the material. A stop grouped with scheduled Reno-Sparks work can usually be smaller than a special trip, so tell us what you have and we'll confirm.
Do we get documentation for public-sector equipment?
Yes. Every load gets a ticket number and a certificate of recycling, and destroyed drives get a certificate of destruction. Reports are kept in our client portal.

A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
