Sparks anchors one of the busiest warehouse and distribution corridors in the West, and, along with Reno, it's one of the Nevada cities where we run the same certified program we built for California. Distribution centers here retire scanners, terminals, networking equipment, and UPS systems on a scale that most local Nevada haulers aren't set up to document properly.

Our recycling center is in Sacramento. Sparks businesses don't have to bring anything to it, because our own crew collects on site and Sparks often shares a regional route with Reno. Sparks households aren't part of our service, since we work with businesses and institutions. Our sister company, Secure Recycle, handles consumer electronics at the same Sacramento location, 3921 Pell Circle. Residents who won't be making that drive should ask the City of Sparks or their waste hauler about local household options.
Distribution centers get the most out of the early steps. We place containers sized for scanner and battery volume, and a Field Service Manager trains shift leads on what goes where, which matters when forklift and lithium batteries share a floor. After our crew's pickup, each load is tracked by weight and ticket number, processed in Sacramento, and documented in certificates and a report for cross-state records.
It shouldn't. Scanners, terminals, monitors and batteries contain lead, mercury, cadmium and other hazardous materials, and damaged lithium batteries are a fire risk in a compactor. Nevada's rules differ from California's, so check with your local waste authority on what applies, but a documented recycler keeps both the material and any data on it accounted for.

A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
