Stanislaus County's cities sit close enough together that one route can cover them on a steady schedule. Modesto's economy leans on food processing and agricultural cooperatives, with back-office IT that turns over on harvest and production timelines. Ceres, which calls itself the Gateway to the Valley, sits in a dense cluster of dairy processing, cold storage and food-packing plants along Highway 99. Turlock runs on CSU Stanislaus's campus IT and a group of large dairy and agricultural processing plants.
- Modesto: food processors, ag co-ops and corporate offices.
- Ceres: dairy plants, food processors and cold-storage warehouses.
- Turlock: CSU Stanislaus and dairy processing.
Our route also stops in Riverbank, Oakdale, Salida, Patterson and Newman.
Any retired business electronics qualify: desktops, laptops, servers, scale-house and packing-line terminals, handheld scanners, refrigeration and processing-line control electronics, monitors and TVs, copiers and printers, phone systems, UPS units, all battery chemistries and hard drives. The services involved:
- Electronic waste recycling for plant, warehouse and office equipment.
- Battery recycling for forklift, scanner and backup batteries.
- Secure data destruction for office and campus drives.
Processing plants can't stop for a recycler, so we work the six steps around the line. Containers go where equipment is retired, and training covers the line and office staff who fill them. Our own crew makes the pickup between runs or after peak season, and the load is tracked by ticket and weight before being processed at our Sacramento facility. You get certificates and reports that hold up in a food-safety or corporate audit, under our ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications.
Pickups are for businesses, campuses and agencies, and we don't offer residential service. Household electronics go to Secure Recycle, our sister company for consumers, at our Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle. Residents can also use a Stanislaus County site from CalRecycle's list. Electronics and batteries can't go in the trash; California treats them as universal waste.
Can one visit cover sites in more than one city?
Often, yes. Modesto, Ceres and Turlock are close enough that multi-site clients can combine them into one regional visit, with a ticket for each location.
Is there a minimum load?
Minimums depend on the route and the material. A stop on a scheduled Central Valley run can usually take less than a special trip.
Request a quote with your city and equipment volume, and tell us if your turnover follows a production or harvest schedule.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
