Vacaville built its modern economy on being exactly halfway between Sacramento and the Bay Area — a location that attracted outlet retail centers, regional distribution hubs, and corporate back-office operations that need affordable real estate without giving up freeway access. That growth turned Vacaville into one of the North Bay's busiest logistics corridors, with warehouses and fulfillment centers lining the I-80 frontage on both sides of town. All of that activity means a steady churn of point-of-sale systems, warehouse scanners, and office computers rotating out of service every year, most of it retired faster than a typical residential neighborhood generates e-waste.
- Distribution and fulfillment centers — warehouse management terminals, handheld scanners, and networking racks pulled during equipment refresh cycles.
- Outlet retail operators — point-of-sale terminals, back-office computers, and in-store security systems swapped out on a retail replacement schedule.
- Corporate office tenants — desktops, monitors, and small server rooms retired when Vacaville-based back-office operations consolidate or relocate.
- Vehicle fleet and logistics operations — onboard routing terminals, radios, and telematics hardware retired as fleets upgrade equipment.
Because so much of Vacaville's commercial real estate turns over with new tenants and remodels, we regularly coordinate with property managers and general contractors who need an entire building's worth of retired electronics gone before a new lease starts.
We collect desktops, laptops, POS terminals, barcode scanners, monitors, networking switches, UPS battery backups, phones, and every battery chemistry, with certified on-site or in-facility hard drive destruction for any device that touched customer, shipping, or payroll data. We also handle bulk pulls from warehouse racking changeovers and retail remodels, sized to fit anything from a single back office to a multi-dock distribution center.
Retail remodels and warehouse changeovers both come with a deadline, so the six steps are planned around it. Containers go in before the work starts, and store or dock staff get a short briefing on setting aside card readers, drives and batteries. Our own crew handles the pickup, in phases if the project runs that way. Each load is tracked under a ticket number, processed at our Sacramento facility up I-80, and closed out with certificates and a report a loss-prevention team can use.
Not in the trash. California treats most discarded electronics and batteries as universal waste, which rules out the dumpster behind a store as much as a household cart. Vacaville households aren't part of our service, since we work with businesses and institutions. Our sister company, Secure Recycle, handles consumer electronics at the same Sacramento location, 3921 Pell Circle, and CalRecycle lists other Solano County sites.
Every Vacaville pickup runs under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001-certified process, so a single retail back-office clear-out gets the same documented chain-of-custody as a full distribution-center decommission. Audit-ready reporting is available any time a corporate compliance or loss-prevention team asks for it.
Request a quote and tell us your loading dock hours or retail operating schedule so we can plan pickup around your business, not the other way around. If your project involves multiple sites or a phased office move, we can build a pickup schedule that matches your timeline instead of forcing a single all-at-once haul. We also serve nearby Fairfield and Vallejo.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
