Oakley only incorporated as its own city in the late 1990s, and it's been catching up ever since, with new subdivisions filling in the space between older Delta-adjacent farmland and the Antioch border. That growth has brought a wave of new small businesses to its main commercial strip, many opening their first location and setting up office equipment for the first time. It has also added newer rental homes, and the landlords who manage them need a documented way to dispose of the electronics tenants leave behind.
- Small local businesses: new shops and service businesses along Main Street and Oakley's commercial corridors retiring office and POS equipment.
- Landlords and property managers: computers, TVs, game consoles, and rechargeable batteries left behind in newer rental properties that need proper, documented disposal.
Desktops, laptops, monitors, TVs, small appliances, phones, all battery chemistries, and hard drives destroyed with certified documentation, no matter how small the pickup. We also take routers, printers, and the assorted electronics tenants leave behind at move-out.
Sometimes working equipment is worth something. Our process puts reuse first: once drives have been wiped or destroyed, working laptops, desktops and networking gear are evaluated for resale, and that value can offset part of what a project costs. It depends on age, condition and market demand, so we can't promise a number before the equipment is tested. Broken electronics, old TVs and spent batteries go to recycling.
The same six steps apply to a new shop's first pickup and to a landlord clearing several rentals. We provide containers and labels, train whoever handles the equipment, and send our own crew for the pickup. At our Sacramento facility the load is logged, processed and documented in a closeout report you can keep with your records.
Our recycling center is in Sacramento, and Oakley businesses get pickup instead of making the trip. Landlords sometimes ask whether they can simply bin what a tenant left behind. They can't: California treats most discarded electronics and batteries as universal waste, which keeps them out of the trash and the dumpster.
Oakley households aren't part of our service, since we work with businesses and institutions. Our sister company, Secure Recycle, handles consumer electronics at the same Sacramento location, 3921 Pell Circle, and CalRecycle lists other collection sites in Contra Costa County if Sacramento is out of the way.
Oakley pickups follow our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001-certified process, so even a small shop's first pickup gets responsibly recycled with full documentation. New small businesses that need a paper trail for their own recordkeeping can get a certificate of destruction for any pickup, no matter how new the company is.
Request a quote for a small-business or rental-property pickup. We keep scheduling simple for new businesses and are happy to explain what qualifies as recyclable e-waste. We also serve nearby Brentwood, Antioch, and Pittsburg.
No obligation. We respond same business day.

A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
