Redding is the commercial and healthcare center for a large piece of far Northern California, from the county line up to the Oregon border. Mercy Medical Center's IT infrastructure sits at the center of that, and the regional offices, clinics and businesses around it serve customers well outside Shasta County. That regional role is why our Shasta County clients tend to have a bigger equipment footprint than a typical small city: a branch office here may be the IT hub for sites spread across several counties.
Redding has its own page with the detail. Our North State route also covers Anderson and Shasta Lake, and it runs south through Chico and the rest of Butte County, so a Shasta County stop is usually part of a longer run.
Businesses, healthcare providers and agencies can include desktops, laptops, servers and networking gear, monitors and TVs, copiers and printers, phone systems, UPS backups, battery-embedded devices, all battery chemistries and hard drives. Medical equipment qualifies too; describe it when you book. Services that usually apply:
- Secure data destruction for patient-record and business drives, built to meet HIPAA requirements.
- Server equipment recycling for regional offices consolidating their IT.
- Electronic waste recycling and battery recycling for the rest.
Distance mostly affects scheduling. We plan Shasta County stops into North State runs, and our own crew makes every pickup; we don't hand far-north loads to a parcel carrier. The rest of the six steps apply as usual: containers and training up front, then tracking under a ticket number, processing at our Sacramento facility and certificates and reports at the end, all under our ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications.
A regional office retiring equipment from several sites can gather it in Redding first; we'll collect it in one visit, and we can report it by site if the equipment is labeled that way.
Modern Waste Solutions works only with businesses and public agencies, and we don't collect from homes. Shasta County residents should use a local collection site from CalRecycle's list; our sister company, Secure Recycle, takes household electronics at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento. Old electronics and batteries can't go in the trash under California's universal waste rules.
How far ahead should we book?
Because Shasta County stops ride on scheduled North State runs, earlier is better. If you have a deadline, such as an office closing, give us the date when you request a quote.
Is there a minimum pickup size?
Minimums depend on the route and the material. A stop added to a scheduled run can usually be smaller than a special trip.
Request a quote with your equipment type and volume. For medical equipment, flag it up front so we can plan the right handling.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
