Watsonville anchors one of the country's most productive strawberry and berry-growing regions, and its packing houses and cold-storage warehouses run control systems, scanners, and battery-powered material-handling equipment around the clock during harvest season. When that equipment reaches end of life, it needs a recycler that understands industrial agricultural operations, not just office cleanouts.
- Packing houses and processors — barcode scanners, control-room electronics, and networking equipment retired between seasons.
- Cold-storage and warehouse operators — forklift and material-handling batteries, backup power systems, and monitoring electronics.
- Local agricultural offices and small businesses — standard desktop, laptop, and printer turnover.
Desktops, laptops, scanners, control-room electronics, networking gear, monitors, printers, all battery chemistries including forklift and industrial batteries, and hard drives with certified destruction. Cold-storage sites often add temperature monitors and backup-power units.
Harvest season fills the storage room, so battery, scanner and computer recycling is planned around the off-season using our six steps. We supply battery tubs and drums sized for forklift and material-handling batteries, and train your crew to keep chemistries apart and pull damaged batteries aside. Our own truck makes the pickup. The load is logged by weight and date, processed at our Sacramento facility, and documented with certificates and a report for your safety and environmental records.
No. Industrial batteries, scanners and control electronics are regulated in California, most of them as universal waste, and they have to reach an authorized recycler. Watsonville households are covered by the same rule. We don't offer residential service ourselves. Household electronics go to Secure Recycle, our sister company for consumers, which operates from our Sacramento address at 3921 Pell Circle, and CalRecycle lists Santa Cruz County sites.
Watsonville pickups run under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001-certified process, with documented chain-of-custody for every load, including higher-volume seasonal cleanouts.
Request a quote and let us know if your pickup includes industrial batteries or control-room equipment so we can plan the right handling. We also serve nearby Santa Cruz and Salinas.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
