San Bruno's business character is shaped by its neighbors: SFO sits just south, YouTube's headquarters anchors its office base, and a ring of logistics, cargo-handling, and warehouse operations fills in around both. Electronics recycling here has to fit inside loading-dock windows and shift changes, not the other way around, and a truck that shows up outside its window can back up an entire freight schedule.
- Airport-logistics and cargo operations — scanners, handheld devices, and networking gear retired from warehouse and dock environments near SFO.
- Media and tech office campuses — server racks, UPS units, and workstations cycled out during infrastructure upgrades at large campus offices.
- Warehouse and distribution tenants — bulk electronics turnover that needs scheduled, dock-friendly pickup rather than a single small box dropped at a front desk.
Desktops, laptops, servers and networking racks, UPS units, handheld scanners, monitors, phones, all battery chemistries, and hard drives with certified destruction, handled on the timeline a logistics-driven business needs, with pickup scheduled around your dock windows and shift changes.
Often, yes, and reuse is the first thing our process looks for. When a laptop, monitor or phone is headed for donation, resale or redeployment, its drive is wiped to NIST SP 800-88 and you receive an erasure report listing each drive by serial number. Whether a device is worth donating depends on its age and condition, so tell us before pickup which equipment you'd like considered for reuse and which must be destroyed. Anything that can't be reused as a whole device is stripped for parts or recycled.
Our six steps fit inside a dock window. Containers are staged ahead of time and staff know what goes where, so the pickup itself is a load-and-go with our own crew. Each load is logged under a ticket number and matched to your release list, processed at our Sacramento facility, and documented in certificates and a report.
No. California treats most discarded electronics and batteries as universal waste, and that covers a warehouse's dead scanners as much as a household's old TV. Household electronics go to Secure Recycle, our sister company for consumers, at our Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle. We don't offer residential service ourselves, and CalRecycle lists Peninsula collection sites.
San Bruno pickups run under our ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001-certified process, giving operations teams the documented chain-of-custody they need even when the pickup window is measured in minutes, not hours.
Request a quote and tell us your loading-dock schedule — we'll build the pickup around it rather than asking your team to build their day around us. We also serve nearby San Mateo and Daly City.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
