Fremont is home to Tesla's factory and a dense concentration of EV, battery, and advanced-manufacturing companies, which means the electronics we recover here skew heavily toward industrial batteries, control systems, and server infrastructure supporting automated production lines. Lithium and other battery chemistries require handling most general recyclers aren't equipped for, and it's a large enough part of our Fremont volume that we plan transport and storage around it specifically, with dedicated packaging for cells and modules pulled off a production line.
- EV and battery manufacturers — production and testing electronics, plus large-format battery recycling as lines are upgraded or retooled for new vehicle programs and model changeovers.
- Advanced-manufacturing and robotics companies — control systems, server racks, and networking gear retired during equipment refreshes tied to production changeovers.
- Tech and logistics support businesses — standard office and warehouse electronics turnover feeding the manufacturing ecosystem, from parts suppliers to staffing and support offices located near the industrial parks.
Desktops, laptops, server and control-system electronics, all battery chemistries including lithium and industrial formats, monitors, printers, and hard drives with certified destruction for every load. We handle both bulk battery removal and the mixed office and IT equipment that comes off a production floor's support offices.
For computer recycling, the support offices around a Fremont production floor add the usual list: copiers and printers, phone systems, TVs and monitors, modems and routers, UPS backups, audio and video gear and battery-embedded devices.
For a line changeover, we work through six steps. Containers come first, with separate packaging for cells and modules, followed by training so production staff know which bin takes what. Our own crew makes the pickup, and each load is tracked by ticket and weight. At our facility the material is processed, with reuse considered before recycling and batteries routed by chemistry, and you receive certificates and reports. Our battery recycling page covers lithium and industrial formats in more detail.
Modern Waste Solutions holds ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, including the documented handling that battery and production electronics require under both environmental and workplace-safety standards.
No. Discarded electronics and batteries are universal waste under California rules and can't go in a dumpster or trash compactor. Damaged lithium batteries are also a fire risk in a mixed-waste bin. Fremont businesses should hold them for pickup. We don't provide residential services. Fremont households can recycle electronics through our sister company, Secure Recycle, at the same Sacramento address, 3921 Pell Circle, or use a closer site from CalRecycle's list.
Request a quote and tell us if your load includes production batteries or server equipment so we can plan the right transport, packaging, and safety handling in advance. Suppliers and support businesses in Fremont's manufacturing ecosystem are welcome to combine smaller office loads with a scheduled route stop. We also serve nearby Newark and Hayward.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
Aaron and Vincent were awesome, excellent customer service!
