Pinole is one of West Contra Costa County's smaller cities, set between Hercules and Richmond where Pinole Creek meets San Pablo Bay. Its historic Old Town runs along San Pablo Avenue, and newer shopping centers cluster near Interstate 80 and Appian Way. Local businesses include dentists, physical therapists, insurance agents, accountants, and real estate offices, along with restaurants and retail.
That profile matters for e-waste. Professional offices hold client and patient records on their computers, so recycling in Pinole is mostly a data-protection job with some batteries and printers mixed in.
- office desktops, laptops, and monitors
- printers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines
- phones, headsets, routers, and small servers
- medical and dental office computers and peripherals
- retail registers and card terminals
- batteries and UPS backup units
- hard drives, backup drives, and USB storage
We bring containers sized to your office, explain what goes where, and collect them when they're full or on a set schedule. Each load is logged at intake at our Sacramento facility, and data-bearing devices are pulled aside for destruction first. Usable equipment is tested for reuse. Everything else is dismantled, and the materials go to approved downstream recyclers. We're certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, and every job ends with a certificate of recycling.
A dental practice or insurance office in Pinole has legal obligations for how patient and client data is destroyed. We shred drives or wipe them to NIST 800-88, and issue a certificate of destruction you can keep with your compliance records. Practices that want drives destroyed before they leave the building can book on-site hard drive shredding. Our certificate of destruction guide explains what that document should contain.
No. Electronics and most batteries can't go in household or business trash anywhere in California. The state's Department of Toxic Substances Control regulates them as universal waste because of the lead, mercury, and other metals they contain. A certificate of recycling is your record that you followed the rule.
Our recycling center is at 3921 Pell Circle in Sacramento, where every Pinole load is processed. We don't operate a drop-off site in the Bay Area, and businesses here are served by pickup. We don't provide residential services. Pinole households can recycle electronics through our sister company, Secure Recycle, at the same Sacramento address, or at a closer site listed by CalRecycle.
Request a quote and tell us how many devices hold data. We also serve nearby Hercules, Richmond, and El Cerrito, and the rest of Contra Costa County.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
