Napa is the county seat and the commercial center of the Napa Valley, and most of its business is wine, hospitality, and the services that support them. That shapes the e-waste we see here. A winery replaces tasting-room tablets and card readers before the busy season, a hotel swaps out a floor of guest-room TVs and phones, and an accounting office downtown retires its workstations after tax season. Much of that equipment holds customer payment data or employee records, so electronics recycling in Napa is as much about data security as it is about keeping lead and lithium out of the landfill.
Modern Waste Solutions has recycled electronics and batteries from its Sacramento facility since 1999, and we pick up from Napa businesses throughout the city.
We accept nearly all business electronics. The loads we collect in Napa usually include:
- point-of-sale terminals, card readers, receipt printers, and tasting-room tablets
- office desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and copiers
- hotel phone systems, guest-room electronics, and security cameras and DVRs
- servers, network switches, Wi-Fi access points, and UPS battery backups
- batteries of every chemistry, from AA cells to forklift and lead acid batteries
- hard drives and other media that need certified destruction
If an item isn't on this list, ask. The business electronics recycling page covers the full range.
We supply storage containers sized to your volume and show your staff what goes in which one. A Field Service Manager picks up the full containers on a recurring route or on call, and every load is logged in our tracking system when it arrives in Sacramento. From there, working equipment is evaluated for reuse and resale, and the rest is taken apart so metals, plastics, circuit boards, and batteries go to approved downstream recyclers. You get the certificates and reports your records need.
Computer recycling in Napa follows the same path, with one extra step for anything that stored data. Hard drives can be shredded at our facility or destroyed on-site at your location, and each job closes with a certificate of destruction. Wineries holding wine club and payment records, and hotels holding guest data, can ask for serial-level reporting. See hard drive destruction for the options.
No. California classifies most discarded electronics and batteries as universal waste, and that rule applies in Napa like everywhere else in the state. A business that puts a monitor or a box of batteries in the dumpster is still responsible for it, and batteries cause fires in collection trucks. Recycling through a documented service gives you a record that the material went where it should.
Our recycling center is in Sacramento at 3921 Pell Circle, and we do not operate a drop-off location in Napa. Businesses don't need one, because we come to you. A Napa business that would rather deliver can bring a load to the facility; see business e-waste drop-off for what to bring. We don't provide residential services. Napa households can use our sister company, Secure Recycle, at the same Sacramento address, or a closer drop-off site from CalRecycle's list.
Request a quote and tell us roughly what you have and where it is. We'll set up a pickup that works around harvest, crush, and your busiest weekends. We also serve nearby Vallejo, Fairfield, and Petaluma.
No obligation. We respond same business day.
Reviews
A little bit off the beaten track in Natomas, but Modern Waste quickly and efficiently helped me recycle my broken Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries at a reasonable $/lb fee (Sac county e-waste will not accept these items). Ramiro and Vincent were very friendly and helpful.
Chris was awesome! He came in and picked up all of the e-waste we had ready for him. He was polite and professional throughout the entire process. He handled the equipment with care, including the site equipment that was already in place. I am very happy with his service and appreciate the great job he did.
