Landon Goodman is the founder and President of Modern Waste Solutions, which he has led from Sacramento since 1999. The company's recycling facility operates at 3921 Pell Circle.
About Landon Goodman
Landon brings experience in leadership, strategy, sales, marketing, and customer service to the waste management and recycling industry. The company he built exists for a practical reason: businesses generate waste that can't legally go in the trash, and many don't have the time or expertise to manage it themselves. He believes personal growth and continuous improvement are what make a company succeed, and he has applied that to Modern Waste Solutions and to the people who work there.
Building Modern Waste Solutions
Under Landon's leadership the company grew from a Sacramento recycling operation into a provider that California businesses and organizations rely on for the regulated materials they can't throw away. Today that means:
- business electronics recycling and IT asset disposition
- battery recycling for every chemistry, from household cells to UPS and EV batteries
- hard drive destruction, including on-site shredding
- recycling for light ballasts and solar panels
The idea running through all of it is simplicity for the customer. Rather than managing separate vendors for e-waste, batteries, and data destruction, a business can work with one company that provides the containers, trains its staff, picks up, tracks every load, and closes the job with certificates. The company calls this its six steps to success.
Certification and accountability
In 2013 Modern Waste Solutions created its Environmental Health and Safety Management System, which Landon's team has maintained and improved since. The company is certified to ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.
The company is also subject to regular inspection and audit by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, Cal EPA, Cal/OSHA, and City of Sacramento agencies. The company welcomes that oversight.
