Albany is a small city located in Alameda County, California, with a population of approximately 18,092 as of the 2024 census.  Albany is situated on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay and is adjacent to the cities of Berkeley and El Cerrito. It covers an area of about 1.7 square miles. Albany has a mild Mediterranean climate, characterized by warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The city has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s when it was primarily known for its agriculture, particularly its bulb farms.  Albany’s bulb farms produced a significant portion of the world’s flower bulbs until the mid-1900s.
